A PERSONALIZED APPROACH TO YOUR WELLBEING
No one knows what is right for you more than YOU. What nourishes someone physically and spiritually can be counterproductive to someone else. My methodology is based on a client’s bio individuality (IIN)*. This is the simple, yet powerful idea that no one person is the same as another, so their approach to healing and wellness should be as unique as they are. I start every relationship by understanding your detailed wellness history, your current habits, work and home environments, essentially everything that makes up your Circle of Wellness. We will discuss what is working for you and what isn’t. From there we will discover the most realistic and attainable direction for you to take. This is not a diet or exercise plan, it’s a customized exploration into what foods and wellness practices nourish and heal your body. With so much health and wellness information available to us, it can be challenging to understand what is actually best for you and your life. Once we discover your unique makeup, we can design a custom wellness practice that keeps you accountable and focused on creating the healthiest version of yourself.
THE CIRCLE of WELLNESS
Most of us grew up believing that as long as we didn’t consume too many calories, and exercised regularly, we were doing exactly what we needed to do to live a “healthy life.” While the foods you eat and how active you are play a significant role in your overall health, we cannot silo off areas of our wellbeing while ignoring others.
They are ALL connected.
Let’s say that that you have been working really hard at your job and have been putting in a lot of late nights. The compounding loss of sleep is leaving you feeling sluggish every day and in order to keep up the pace at work you are drinking more coffee, often throughout the day. The extra coffee, stress and brain activity from working late is now making it hard for you to sleep. This cycle begins to weaken your immune system and your body starts to crave more calories and carbs to give it quick energy. The increase in calories leads to weight gain and the sugars begin to fuel inflammation, leaving you feeling more rundown and fatigued. Muscle aches, joint pain and fatigue, combined with the lack of sleep, decrease your motivation to exercise. This lack of motivation and exhaustion impacts your social life, dampening your desire to go out and engage in experiences that help build and maintain healthy relationships. As you can see, while eating healthy foods would certainly help in this scenario, there are many other elements of your life that contribute to your overall wellbeing.
The Circle of Wellness helps you visualize the individual elements that make up the whole picture of your life and provides the opportunity to honestly assess where you are at this moment in time. It’s not realistic for anyone to be perfectly balanced and completely fulfilled in all aspects of life. There will always be times when we put more energy into certain areas, and less in others. The goal is to listen to yourself more often and see the bigger picture. Then you can acknowledge the great things in your life, as well as creating goals towards the areas you’d like to see change.
