The Circle of Wellness

SOCIAL LIFE – Are you fulfilled by your social interactions? Are you connecting with like-minded people? Are you an introvert who is socializing too much and needs more space for yourself? Are you lonely and need more time with people? Everyone has different needs, and that is why it is important to make sure you are getting the connection that is right for you. If you are feeling isolated or overstimulated this will affect your overall health.

SPIRITUALITY – How connected do you feel towards your spiritual beliefs? Do you get to focus on these enough? This isn’t about a specific religious belief, focusing on your spirituality is more about connecting to your own set of beliefs.

JOY – Everyone wants to feel joy but how often do we not make time for it because we are so busy trying to perfect all that is around us. Joy is simply living in the moment and enjoying it, instead of living in the past or future. The greatest joys are so simple. Do you allow yourself to feel them? Are you putting yourself in situations where joy comes naturally to you? Adding gratitude in your life has an amazing ability to not only add joy but see the joy that was already there.

CREATIVITY – Creativity is in everyone. You do not have to be an artist or a musician to be creative. What lights you up inside? What activity can you get lost in for hours? Are you allowing enough of this in your life?

FINANCES -The stress we feel from managing our finances is pretty universal. While all of our backgrounds, and relationships with money differ, we all want to make sure we are taken care of. Are you preparing for your future?  Do you have a daily, weekly or monthly budget? Having a financial plan gives us a sense of control and calm as we navigate the uncharted waters of our individual financial journeys.

CAREER – Depending on your life stage, a career means different things. Are you working towards a new career, are you fulfilled in your current one? Are you taking time away from your career to focus on other aspects of your life?

EDUCATION – This too can mean many different things depending on where you are in your life.  Education can be as simple as reading articles on topics you are interested in or going after a master’s degree. The goal is to continue learning and growing in a way that makes sense for your current lifestyle.

HEALTH – What does health mean to you? Do you feel good? Have you tuned into your body to really hear what it has to tell you? Are you feeling brain fog and inflammation, or are you feeling energetic and clear? Are you struggling with disease or chronic issues? Do you know ways to prevent disease at the root cause?

ACTIVITY – Are you moving your body and getting the endorphins flowing? Activity looks different for everyone. Have you found the activities that you look forward to and help you release stress? You don’t have to run a marathon for activity to be worthwhile. Are you making movement a priority? Can it easily fit into your routine or do you need to make adjustments to make sure your activity goals are attainable?

HOME COOKING – This one might surprise people to be on the list, but it is actually one of the most fundamental pieces of a healthy lifestyle. Home cooking is a form of self-care and is a way for you to actively decide what goes into your body. You don’t have to be a chef to enjoy cooking for a family or for one. The key is to find meals that makes sense for your lifestyle and budget.

RELATIONSHIPS – Relationships go well beyond your romantic relationships. Are you struggling with friendships, parents, your children? Relationships that are causing you stress can greatly affect your overall health. Recognizing and putting energy towards relationships you’d like to work on will make more room for you to focus on your own well-being.

HOME – Your home life greatly affects your day-to-day well-being. Are you surrounded by supportive people?  Do you have the physical space you need to recharge? Are their outside distractions that prevent you from concentrating or sleeping well?  Do you feel safe? Do you feel unorganized? Do you have a space to cook healthy meals?
